چکیده

This study aimed to examine the effect of shared social identity (i.e., whether source information about a stressor comes from an ingroup vs. outgroup member) and message content people were informed that task is stressful challenging) on cardiovascular reactivity stress (CVR) across two higher education institutions differing in status (University Institute Technology [IoT]). The employed quasi-experimental 2 × design. 80 healthy undergraduate students (38 female, 47.5%) recruited institutions—a University (n = 40) IoT 40). All underwent standardised testing protocol baseline rest period, manipulation, task). Blood pressure heart rate continuously monitored throughout. Results indicated who would be by member (a student) displayed relatively SBP (M 17.53, SD 4.72). Interestingly, those (also similarly high level 19.45, 4.33). It appears being told had different effects depending what institution person was in, provided information. These findings provide preliminary evidence suggest responses may not simply impacted or content, but also position informants group.
